Assoc. Prof. Diana Reckien delivered the Keynote Speech at the UP 2030 Final Conference hosted at the modernisme masterpiece: Hospital Sant Pau in Barcelona/ Spain on Nov. 3rd 2025.

UP2030 aims to support cities in driving the socio-technical transitions required to meet their climate neutrality targets by leveraging urban planning and design. Through the lenses of justice and resilience, the project has been working with 11 cities and more than 20 tool providers to create pathways towards climate action that leave no one behind.
Diana gave a high-level keynote on “Bold visions, regular plans and limited implementation? Gaps and challenges within climate planning and practices”.

This Keynote presentation draws on the experience gathered through research in the EURO-LCP initiative over the last roughly 15 years. I met colleagues from the Urban Climate Change Research Network (here with Prof. Mattia Leone and Dr. Christina Visconti) and the City of Barcelona (here visible Ramon Canal-Oliveras and Prof. Lorenzo Chelleri)–long-term partners on urban resilience.
